Early Childhood Education: Children's Literature

Find library and online resources for students and faculty in the field of early childhood education.

Our Collection

Our curated Children's Literature collection is updated bi-annually with new award winning titles and recommended titles. The collection is directed at ages 2-6, with an emphasis on themes and topics relevant to preschool settings, fore example "friendship," or "sharing". Many of the titles have been selected as strong "read-aloud" choices for story time. The collection includes board books, bi-lingual books, poetry anthologies, and felt stories. Content highlights include Indigenous authors, diversity (cultural, gender, abilities), holidays from many cultures, and global concerns such as climate change. There is an additional special collection at Broadway library featuring Indigenous authors and Indigenous languages.
