Downloading eBooks @ VCC Library: Ebook Central (ProQuest)

Using Ebook Central on your mobile

eBooks can be downloaded to your mobile device and read with the free Adobe Digital Editions reader app. You will need the following:

Tips

You can change the Language of the interface! From the top navigation bar, select Settings, then Language. Choose your desired language and save your changes. You'll see the interface in your chosen language until you clear cookies.

Using Ebook Central on Windows or Mac in your browser

  1. If you're off-campus, make sure you log into myvcc.ca with your student ID number and password.
  2. Find the eBook Central (Proquest) in the "Databases" section of the VCC Library website.
  3. To find an eBook, search by keyword or browse by category.
  4. For each eBook, you will have the option to read the full text in your internet browser or download a file (PDF or EPUB). To download the file, click on the Download Book link or Full Download icon displayed on the book you want to check out.  You'll be prompted to login to your Ebook Central account, or create a Ebook Central account if you don't have one already.
  5. Once you've logged into your Ebook Central account, you will be able to download the eBook. You will need Adobe Digital Editions (and an Adobe account) to open and read the entire eBook. For more info, see: Instructions on how to download eBooks
