Teaching, Learning & Research: Student Showcase: Student Showcase 2025

Seeking participants for the Student Showcase on March 3-4, 2025

Showcase your student's achievements and learning in any area of study. This is not limited to traditional research projects. You may wish to consider incorporating participation into your course syllabus. You can elect top projects to participate, or join as an entire class! This is fantastic opportunity for your students to gain confidence presenting and participating in professional events.

Two ways to participate:

1. Digital Poster 
   Ask students to submit a PDF poster any time prior to the showcase date for inclusion in judging. It will be visible online in the VCC Institutional Repository: Student Conferences + Symposiums | Arca: Discover BC's Digital Treasures. (arcabc.ca)
    
2. Lightning Talk
   Ask students to prepare a  3-slide/3-minute presentation to share on March 3 or 4 online during the Teaching, Learning and Research Symposium. Students will gain experience selecting key points, summarizing information, preparing visually appealing graphics, and considering how to hook and engage a diverse audience.
   
   Instructors interested in asking students to submit recorded narrated powerpoint presentations, in lieu of live participation, may get in touch to make arrangements for this.
    

Prizes: $250 Best Lightning Talk Award/ $250 Best Poster Award and three draw prizes of $50.
