This article describes the process by which the vision and missions statements were created, as well as the historical context that lead to an environment in which such statements were deemed needed. In particular, the history and evolution of a national tourism marketing organization is reviewed as well as the emergence of a strong voice for industry in the operations of a national tourism marketing body.
