How to do research at VCC Library

At the end of VCC Library's Research Tutorial you will:

  • Become familiar with Library Services
  • Choose a topic and identify an appropriate list of keywords
  • Perform Boolean searches and refine searches.
  • Select the best resources to search (books, articles, websites, etc.)
  • Recognize that resources must be cited properly and know where to find guides to proper citation styles.
  • Access your VCC email and library account

The entire tutorial should take no more than 30 minutes to read through and to complete the related activities (Survey, Knowledge Checkpoints and Research Challenge).

Each program has a liaison librarian available for research consultations and one-to-one training.

Consult with your librarian to help find information resources for your assignments, plan a research strategy, create catalogue and database searches, use citation styles, etc.
